Drag and Drop audio from/to Edison

Image Line Edison is the perfect audio editor for me, as you can use multiple instances of VST plugins in Sonar. Unfortunately I can't drag audio from Edison back to the tracklist. Draging recorded audio to Edison works without problems, but the other way it doesn't work. I've tried to load Edison in an FX bin as well as in the Synthrack.

The strange thing is, that you can drop the audio while scrolling the trackview horizontally (by droping it to the right of the window). But this makes it almost impossible to drop it at the right place.

I wrote this question also in the IL forums and got the following response:

Edison VST and standalone use a newer form of drag and drop, which will also be used in FL 9 and its version of Edison. Some applications don't seem to support this correctly.

Is there something I can do to make it work in Sonar? Or is it simply not supporting this "newer form of drag and drop"?

I'm using Sonar 8.3 as well as the newest stantalone/VST version of Edison.

Thanks, Coco Bob

Try enabling snap to grid. Never heard of the Fx your using, but snap to grid may help you out

Hey Cj, thanks for your answer. The problem is that Sonar won't let you drop the audio when you have the cursor inside the trackview/ over a track. When you move the mouse fully to the right of the view, where Sonar starts scrolling horizontally through your track, you are suddenly able to drop the audio. So you can only drop while it scrolls (-> impossible to let go exactly where you want to place it).

Btw. Edison is a VSTi audio editor: http://www.image-line.com/documents/edison.html
