Idea For New Forum Section

Here's an idea for a new Sonar forum section: "Sonar Experts". Cakewalk could actually create a test and only hardcore users could join that section of these forums. It seems like there are either the really expert users who just wise-ass each other to death all day with lame attempts at humor, wasting time and space, or people with very little knowledge who have to wade through all of this crap to get to whatever knowledge they're looking for. Not to many users seem to fall in the middle of the distribution.

Anyway, if we could get these "gurus" their own section (and by the way I would definitely fail that qualification test miserably), maybe there would be more focus on people who have issues and need and get help.

And, maybe more people would be inspired to learn Sonar much more thoroughly.

Just a thought.

I see your point, and I more or less agree, but how would the division be done? Having 1000 posts doesn't mean a person is a SONAR expert, and on the other hand someone with 5 posts can be really experienced having worked with different DAWs professionally.

In case there'd be a jury that would pick the experts, we'd end up in a spectacular fight, I'm afraid.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

I've known many difficult topics answered by people with hardly any posts on here.

Forums fall into the category of 'you can't please all the people'

Humour is ok from people with thousands of posts who are regulars but anyone else it is unhelpful or not required.
The way to deal with stuff is ignore it or ignore the poster concerned. No one is forcing us to read endless posts about topics that we have no interest in.

Humour is subjective. Some like it. Some don't. Some think it gets in the way. Some think it makes the day a little better.
Some forums are very anal and some are not.

If you ask a question on any forum you get Mr Attitude, Mr Comedy, Mr Guess, Mr Know-it-All, Mr Happy, Mr Sad, Mr Large Post Count, Mr Same Problem, Mr Try This, Mr Fanboy, Mr Argumentative etc.........

I'd say that the more technical questions are left pretty much alone to the gurus.

Or perhaps one of your subsequent ones which was, along with other posts, among those that, somehow, got themselves deleted from the thread?

And those who fail get banished to the "Coffee House."

I am really wishing the forums did not change back, because now you are all bringing Sonar forum nonsense down here to the basement where the walls are thin. It used to be the place where all the nice people would just play and share their music.

So let me get this straight... because Nick said something that somebody else didn't like, he can not now post anything with out having thrown back into his face by all of you oh so considerate sonar forum folks?

    Wow...

(BTW Nick, I thought your post made good sense - both this and the one about Nashville, and good sense does not need credentials).

Apparently I'm a type 6 on this categorization system which kinda bears out those observations of yours.

    Guilty as charged I guess.
