So watcha usin'? I prefer Sound Forge 9, it comes with CD Architect 5 so with that and Sonar most of my bases are covered!

Sound Forge 9 here as well. Haven't used anything else except Cool Edit Pro about 8 or 9 years ago. Though some people say Wavelab has some cool functions SF lacks, I don't remember what they are. Something about a montage maybe?

Adobe Audition here. SF is good, but I'd prefer not to give the evil Sony empire any more money if I have a choice.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Audition here, too. Do all my sound restoration with it, now - just excellent.

    Yeh!!

I bought a digital handycam at Christmas. It uses a 4GB memory stick to record HD videos. I found the manual on-line a checked it would do what I wanted before buying. The Model is a CX-11 in the UK and CX-12 in the States.

You can imagine my surprise when I discovered that I could not write images or videos back to the memory stick.

But Sony UK settled my anxiety by saying that their manual does not constitue any part of of the sales agreement. There had been an error, and the part of the manual that said "You can even write files and videos back to the memory stick if required" should have read "You cannot write files and videos back to the memory stick". (Even if required I suppose )

    Sweet.

Just an observation - don't want to hijack the thread.

Phil , ya should have gone to radio rentals

Bill, depends , for quickness I use Wavosaur,.. although I use recycle, cubase's audio editor , kontakt 3's sample editor, audacity.

but wavosaur is probably my fav currently, it's just fast for a few things.

Used SF for a while. Switched to Wave Lab. Learned to hate Steinberg. Moved back to SF. I like SF9. I only wish it had a montage function like WL had.

I also check manuals online before a buy - so that's a definite bummer, and Sony should be ashamed of themselves for weaseling out of their responsibility.

BTW I always check '[insert model here] issues' in google, to make sure. On anything I buy, really. Happens from time to time that you stumble upon some problem in a forum that makes you drop it like a hot coal.
