EZ Drummer Twisted Kit owners...

I bought this kit a couple of weeks ago and it didn't fit in two tunes I was working on, so I didn't touch it until tonight. My first impression before I bought it was it opened up new ideas, and tonight I previewed a couple of grooves and started playing a tune a wrote a bit ago (and recorded, not to my satisfaction) and wow, I feel like it's cheating or stealing. The grooves are pretty original, and the way it's layed out -intro, verse, chorus-I "wrote" the drum part in about 4 minutes.

I'm somewhat familiar with Tom Waits-this kit was played by his drummer (Michael something), who also played with Lou Reed and Elvis Costello- these grooves sound like they were taken from Wait's "Rain Dog" album, but I can't really place which tunes- it sounds like a collection of various grooves, odd sounds, and fills.

So I guess I was wondering if anyone who has this kit has the same feeling- again, I feel like I'm completely lifting these rhythms and as soon as anyone who is familiar with Waits hears my tune, they'll know where it came from

It was definately taken from the Rain Dogs album (the only Waits disc I usually listen to). I think Toontrack mentioned that somewhere.
I bought it, but have never really used it for anything yet. It's so great, but so unique, I'm afraid that I'll end up just plagarizing Tom Waits... with any of those clips, all you can do is that staggery raw rhythm that he does so well.

Slugbaby, I agree, it feels like plagarizing. The last Radiohead album has that kind of drum feel on some tunes, and the panning is kinda similiar, so if it's done right I don't think it would be too obvious. But it is such a singular sound that people in the know would, well, know.

    Thanks
