Laid To Rest (Ambienta Melodica)
Hi all, This is a track I did a couple of months ago. I messed around with it for ages so thought it was about time for an airing Feedback more than welcome http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=754343 Bestest, Paul

I don't normally like trance techno....... usually I shut it off after about 15 seconds...... but I found this to be quite interesting...... I like the sound scapes in this.... nice job. sweet synths...

Cool! A new song. I visit your Soundclick page every now and then and just hit the big play button to go through all of the songs. One of the things I like about your music is the incorporation of real instruments, such as the piano in this song and the guitar in the previous song. I like to do the same with my music when it fits.

Nice. I am becoming more and more receptive to this music after being on the board. By this music I mean NO VOX, Ha. It is well recorded and has nice changes and dynamics. What I am not really fond of is the "electronic drum rolls". Not just in this song but others I've heard. I know, that's all part of getting used to it. I like your song a lot.

The intro reminde me of Yanni's music, which I happen to like.. You must have that limiter cranked on the master buss!! LOL! Great sounds and samples. Those quiet passages are very peaceful/serene. Yeah, I liked it, especially the piano. Good melody line.

Awesome work, Paul! No criticism here - this one is pretty much perfect. Solid melody and I love the piano work and the breakdown. The length of the song is just right IMO - I get pretty bored with tacked-on DJ-friendly intros/outros that go nowhere, so I really like that your tracks get to the point and are listenable throughout. I give it all 5 stars.

Thanks all! Dave, always a pleasure! Cliff, perhaps me and Dave will colab one day - could you handle that??!! Seriously, I do appreciate your enthusiasm! I have introduced a new sound after the intro, and also in the break. The mix on this did take ages I have to say. I'm 'into' EQ and compression more than I used to be which does make a difference when used wisely. I have been signed by a promoter and a CD is due out 1st May, called 'ElectroStatic'. It will be a complete mixture of tracks, so hopefully something for everyone. Also a few vocal mixes that no-one has heard yet I will keep you posted. Thanks again everyone, Paul

Hey mate, this is excellent. I was listening to the intro, before it got "proper techno" and was thinking this could be developed into a whole ambient/relaxation piece of its own. I love the key changes, the drop in/out of the instruments and the timing change in the middle! Awesome stuff.

Prevalence, Nice work. I admit that I know nothing of the Trance scene or music, I'm just learning about it. What you've done with this piece impressed me with your orchestration and arrangement. Seems like just about the time I'm starting to get a little fidgety with a section, you change it to something that is very interesting. You have a great sense of when something needs to change and move on, musically. Now, if you would indulge my ignorance for a minute: This piece is called "Trance" music but, to my ignorant ears, it sounds very much like something one could dance to. Is "trance" music usually so dance-friendly? I ask because to my way of thinking, something called "trance" music might be super-mellow and hypnotic and not have all the rhythmic drive of this piece. This is not a criticism, mind you, it's a legitimate question from someone who is not familiar with the "trance" or "dance" music scene. I'm an old blues/rock guy and I'm just trying to understand the terminology of your genre. Really nicely done piece. Like it very much. Best regards, Bill

This isn't my usual type of music, but I like the exceptional examples and this is sure one! I like the chords you chose, and you know when to soften the mood and then when to punch it back up. My only criticism is that it's a bit bright, and looks like it could use some more low-to-midrange equalization.
