How can a Phenom beat a Core i7?

If you overclock it to 6.5 GHz!

Of course, you'll need to keep some liquid hydrogen on tap. (That's to get it down to -270C. Oh, and you'll need some liquid nitrogen to pre-cool it to "only" -70C first, so you don't crack anything.)
