Tapco 4x4 & Vox ToneLab not talking

The Tapco 4x4 has been working great for me. But I have noticed that my VOX Tonelab won't properly negotiate with it and that upon close inspection the XP OS classifies the Tapco 4x4 as a generic USB audio device and lists it under Audio Devices, Mixer Devices, and Line Input Devices but does not list it under MIDI Devices and Instruments. Nonetheless all MIDI software finds it as a MIDI device and none of them mistake it for an audio, mixer or line input device.

Anyhow, I was wondering if this is just a meaningless observation or if this might explain why the VOX Tonelab Editor is the only program I have that cannot receive MIDI info from the VOX Tonelab. I can still use the program to Edit patches and load them into the Tonelab, I just cannot dump patches from the ToneLab into the computer.

Hi, new tonelab le user here, I was not able to get the tonelab to dump patches either , but I can use the the editor and do a save as , this backs up all my patches.
    hope that helps some,

Thanks, it seems like a common problem though not a universal one.
