My soul... ****, Robby just said that before I even looked. Hey, you and me in Hell Robby!!

I almost sold my Shergold Masquerader that I purchased new when I was 17. Pheeeeww that was close. Still got it!!

I was that close to buying a new '78 Strat instead, of course the Strat would be worth much more now but the Shergold is a funky little gem.

This will really hack people off

what i should have bought

I had a freind who went round charity and antique shops and bought and sold stuff one day he brought round a minimoog, i eagerly hooked it up, tried to play van halen jump on it (only thing I could play at the time on keys), and was greeted with SQUELCHING, FARTING< BUBBLING.

I looked at him and asked what good is this thing, he said I could have it for £10 , then £5 I still said no (this was about 1986), I wanted the money for cider (I was 16)

My 1929 Stratocaster

a 1972 Fender Stratocaster.. without tremolo, large headstock..
I somehow felt cheated when I bought the guitar for 1000 Deutsche Marks,.. always felt bad about paying so much for it.. then I was talking with someone kind of told him the story and he was interested in buying that instrument.. So I said "I paid 1000 DM, that's what I would would sell you the guitar for".. well he said 800DM and I thought I would feel better losing only 200DM.. so we made the deal and he came back to me a couple of days later and said that this was such a great guitar..
another couple of days later, actually years later, I saw that same guitar on ebay.. it was sold for round about 2800 Euro.. which is about equivalent to 5600 Deutsche Mark.. now my bad feelings suddenly had come back again..

My 1969 Boss 429. Sold it in 1976 because the road band I was in kept breaking up and I had to pay bills. They've (Boss 429's) been bringing $400K for the last few years and are forecast to hit 1mil in 5 years. What we do for music.

I shouldn't have sold(/traded in) my Hofner Beatle bass, my Mapleglo Rick 4001 and my Selmer Mark VI Alto Sax. Now it cost's an arm and a leg to replace them.

Dave Modisette ... rocks a Purrrfect Audio Studio Pro rig.

ORIGINAL: ew

My '65 Rickenbacker 360/12- I sold it to finance a move to LA to join a band that imploded after three months.
My Oberheim Two Voice and Four Voice- I needed a fairly substantial cash inflow at the time.

ew

I have a OB 4 voice. It is a monster synth. And about as beautiful as a synth should ever deserve to be. And you could sort of store things on it, sort of.
