Line 6 TonePort UX2 with Sonar 6/6xl

Hey I am having trouble getting sonar to recognize my Toneport UX 2 as a midi device. I have no problems with my edirol pcr-500 but when I have the tone port Plugged in the Sonar program wont even activate. When I start Sonar up first, than plug in the toneport into the usb it still wont recognize it. If it does recognize it in the midi devices option, Ill click on the check box to activate it. It still wont activate and when i go back to the midi devices option its unchecked like I never checked it in the first place. If anybody can help me that would be so appreciated because I really want to record with my guitar and use the toneport.

the toneport UX2 doesn't have MIDI I/O ports on it, so you can't use it as a "MIDI device"

are you sure you're trying to set it up as a MIDI device or maybe you just don't understand the terminology and you're trying to set it up as a soundcard with recording inputs?

Thank you, I have figured out that I needed to change my drivers to ASIO from MME and now it works with my program. Now my problem is I would like to hear the sound come out of my computers speakers instead of having to plug in my headphones everytime. The manual told me to go to my control panel and change the default sounds from my speakers to the toneport but my computer is not giving me that option. Maybe I am going in the completely wrong direction here to hear audio out of my bose speakers but if anybody can help me that would be great.

Did you go Control Panel>Sounds and Devices> Audio (tab) and check the drop down for selection? - UX2 has to be on.

I don't understand the "change the default sounds from my speakers" part of what you're saying. You're not trying to change your speakers you need to set the soundcard you want use. You should have a selection of the PC soundcard and the Line 6 to choose from.

Don'T go thru your pc. Go thru your sound cards main outs. hook them up there and not through your pc. you should be bypassing your windows mixer when using sonar anyway. Why are you futzing around with the window options for speakers? Set that up in sonar and your sound card.
also MMe is the worst driver mode to be in. you'll get terrible latency. Use ASIO or WDM

Yo thanks a lot CJay I thought I had to route it through the tone port to my computers speakers instead of just bypassing it all together. It completely works now, I appreciate your help.
