Problem when using multiple Z3TAs in Cubase

Firstly a newbie hello to all
My problem is that when I load say 3 or 4 Z3TAs in cubase VST Instruments to compose a song. I find that for example: Z3TA(2) will alter the parameters of Z3TA(1). when the sound in (1) should not be altered as I am using a different channle for (2) Can you help?

    which version of cubase?

with all sequencers, well it treats multiple instances of a synth as unique.

sounds odd, doesn't do that for me in 3sx / 4 , well in the past.. my DAW is not near me at the moment.

I use cubase SL3. I use other virtual synths with no problem. It's definately odd and it's as though something has got it's wired crossed!!! A good example is when I have a Z3TA bass on one track and leave that running whislt choosing another sound on another Z3TA it alters the tone etc of the bass. This doesn't happen every time I use it, but it shouldn't be doing it at all. I'm stumped.
