Song that captures "You"

So the song that best epitomizes your life now, or at some time in the past or the future.

In the 70s, it would have been the Tubes WPOD, for reasons I will not go into here.

Today, probably Transcendental Suicide by Soundtrack of Our Lives, or Something in the Air - originally by Thunderclap Newman but better done by Tom Petty.

I am hoping that somewhere in the not to distant future it is some combination of Baby You're A Rich Man by the Beatles and Baby's on Fire by Eno

You?

I would say that changes daily. Maybe even more often than that.

But maybe the one song that I do identify with the most would be: "(Don't Give Me No) Hand Me Down World", by The Guess Who

    Good choice.

And much better than "Get up every morning get on the bus" though that was a catchy riff.

The version they did with Zappa on Live at the Filmore was really good too. Though that is perhaps Zappa at his most twisted, as evidenced by songs such Bwana something or another. Or What Kind of Girls Do You Think We Are?

When I was getting divorced 10 years ago, I related a lot to "Stupid Girl" by Garbage

    If someone could combine:
    Straight To Hell (the clash)
    Heroes (Bowie)
    Happy (Rolling Stones)
    Penetration (Iggy/Stooges)
    Add It Up (Violent Femmes)

They would have the "Me" song.

In the distant past (the '70's):
Torn and Frayed by the Rolling Stones, or,

Nowadays: "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa" by Napoleon XIV

"The Joker" - Steve Miller Band - Some people call me Maurice...........

Whoa - me and you buddy. People used to call me Maurice because they thought I was Maurice Cain - who had moved to someplace like Guam. It was freaky. I was a joker, a midnight toker, a picker a grinner.... and that song came out. People started calling me Maurice intentionally after that.

That happen to you too? Wow!
