ASR-X & Sampling Please Help

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of an ASR-X, and would like to get started with it's world renowned sampling features. My question is this : Is it possible to sample from MP3 or FLAC files located on my computer? What software if any would be needed?

This is my current setup

Sound Card - E-MU® 0404 PCI Digital Audio System

The out ports on the ASR-X are being routed through to the in on the sound card.

Im purchasing the same cables to be able to bring sound into the ASR-X, but what do I do next?

Also, once I get the samples on the ASR-X, is it possible to play a beat created in reason and simultaneously record the samples I've chopped on the ASR-X?

For the sample translation issues I'd start with Chicken Systems Translator.

    and their Ensoniq ASR-X tools

Looks like they also have ZIP drive kits for the ASR-X. You'll probably get more info at an ASR related forum.

    Good Luck
