Low-profile USB adapters

My kids keep snapping off parts off the PC USB connectors around here because the damn cable heads stick out so far... so I got fed up and hunted down some adapters to minimize the damage. I found some right-angle 'tails that fit close to flush at this place:

About $13 but worth it to me for peace of mind. They come in Up and Down configurations.

Here's screenshots:

They have firewire too. Hope this helps someone else!

    it's a common thing...

kids + laptops = bad news

my friends little cousin did that and a hub was the way to fix it.. I'm guessing they are being paid off by pc makers to do it..hehe

I mean esp. with laptops they sell at cost, and make a fair bit with out of warranty work.

Guess it's a case of explaining it's not a toy.

I don't have the joy of kids trashing my things.. adults do that instead.. and it's normally things like older computers that go for silly money on ebay if I want a replacement.
