New piano-driven song: "Caprice"
First off, I'm not very good at piano. At all. But hey, I did what I could. Just a quick song, about 5 hours of work. Hope you guys dig it: "Caprice" http://www.myspace.com/wayofmind I'm thinking of possibly expanding upon the idea, but for now, that's all he wrote!

This is really lovely. The beat is infectious and i loved it when it slowed down a 1:36. I liked this a lot, great writing and arrangeing and the playing is good too. Excellent.

Hey, this is cool! I really like it! Piano is quite well played, actually and I love the percussion here and there and the synth background. Plenty of stuff to keep my interest. Nice job!

this was very dam good , i would climax a little earlier (you`ll lose certain people if you run just the piano by itself much after 45secs) so not so much time till the build up, when the transition to the accompaniment happened this was wicked but then 27secs later it`s all over "bummer!!!!", so in retrospect i would shorten the prelude, and largely increase the body area then maybe bookend with the prelude as the outro, this is just my ramblings and 2cents , i still thought it was great anyway.

Very, very nice- captivating – well produced and refreshing in it’s “clarity†(that is the word that comes to mind) .It does seem a bit short /abrupt to me – but what’s there is really good. A bit Windom Hill to my ears and that’s a good thing. I remember hearing your song The Bridge –it’s a beautiful track. Real quality material kiddo, good luck with your musical endeavors.

Thanks for the positive replies guys =] It really means a lot to me over this one, 'cause seriously, I'm very amateur at the piano. It took me quite a few takes and playing the song in smaller sections to get it all out without it sounding like I was struggling. I really want to expand upon this idea, maybe not *too* much longer, but there was one more section I had in mind that I never made, which was actually the real "climax" ending. It's basically the string section coming back in, and doing the piano lead that's repeated over and over, except half the speed and quite a bit more intricate. Also, the drums were to reach full fruition, doing big (not CRAZY, but big), rumbling fills and getting a tad bit flashy. What really made me cap the song off when I did was that I just had no idea how to progress into that "real" climax ending. It needs at least 2 or more sections leading up to it, otherwise it'll just feel incredibly redundant if that piano lead comes back in for the ending so soon after it had just stopped. To alkie: Yeah, I suppose in the context of its length, the strings should've come in two bars sooner. How it stands was made with a longer song in mind - then it just abruptly stops. I'm really undecided, though... You know those little TV show themes, or short movie score "bursts", that are often only a minute or so? That's kind of what I get out of this with its current length . . . Anyway, I suppose I'll ponder over this some more

Having worked in for years in the entertainment field with agents and producers and managers one of the major rules is never start your pitch with "I'm really not very good....." Never give them a reason to doubt you. Nice stuff all of it on your site, good voice, catchy vocals, nice mix. This works very well. When you peform this your opening tag should be more along the line of "this is going to knock your socks off". Very nice work. I had to come back and say as I finished you last tune, this is some of the best stuff I've head here lately. That last tune is over the top. Your vocals are compelling.

Now that was 5hrs well spent. I really enjoyed this one. Piano sounds really nice, Bass packs a nice kick, Drums are exquisite sounding. This one would be worth filling out a bit !!!! The other songs are equally entertaining! You've got talent ! -TAP-
