Those UAD guys did it again

So on 31 March I buy the Cooper Time Cube (but not the two new SSL plugs). I had 20% off and a $25 coupon. I get the CTC for $99, cuz the extra $360 (for the two SSL plugs) was not in my spending plan.

Yesterday they tell me if I buy three plugs I can get 25% off. If I had waited:

CTC $149
Buss $199
CS $249
=======
$597 - 25% = $447 - $99 (already planned on spending) = $348 net as opposed to $360 not abig deal, BUT.....

Since I already got CTC, I can only get 15% off of two plugs.

Buss $199
CS $249
=======
$448 - 15% = $380

I'm a dodo head.

However, maybe this summer there will be a sale again and I'll be cash happy at that time. I'm working real hard at pay as I go.



BTW, the two SSL plugs are the only plugs of UAD's that I don't own.

    I was thinking of buying some plugs myself..
    but as I invested quite a lot in those plugins (like yourself) and I start to believe that their prices (not even considering the economy as it is now) is a bit too high.. for the 4k channel strip I could buy a sonar and ozone update and would still have money left.. much more efficient!
    There were times when they had even better offers (half price on certain updates) I guess I wait for nov./dec. to come and then check what I need.. without discounts I already have 3k worth of uad plugins, that should be enough to make a decent mix.
    I think it's also a bit annoying to get confronted with plugins that come out of nowhere.. everyone is waiting for the fatso, and then they present those 3 new plugs.. would be easier to plan those investments if they would give a hint on new releases.

    Me, I'm not waiting on Fatso. I may get it (after a trial), but like you I have enuf to keep me happy for now.

    Just wanted to vent and show people that sometimes waiting can be a good thing.
