music gear.. prices going up again ?

as I've been looking through my music-mag I've notice some prices went way up again..
Edirol FA-66 previous 289.- (out of my head) now 359.- (EURO)
FA-101 previous 399.- now 449.-

not to bring up the old discussion.. but sweetwater sells the FA-66 for 279USD (~200 Euro.. so about 160Euro less(!) )

RME seems stable, UAD.. can't quite remember what I paid for my quad.. I think stable too.. not sure about it..

anyway.. I also found a Cakewalk Soundcard UA-1G.. never heard of that one before.. I guess I missed how they were featured.. (or they got lost in the shadow of the VS-700 / V-Studio)

FA-66 is listed here for 299, not sure if that was 279 earlier, but could be. FA-101 goes for 389. Euro's, that is.

ah.. there you see.. so I wasn't wrong.. you seem to still have the "old" prices.. see here for the new (in germany)

    or
    http://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Edirol-FA-66-Firewire-Audio-Interface/art-PCM0004381-000
and a site that lists cheap dealers:
    http://gt.preissuchmaschine.de/gt_frontend/main.asp?produkt=388469

so you better buy now I guess, while you still have the cheaper prices (if you have anything on your list..)

Hey...that's brilliant.... economy is depressed, people are short on money & jobs.... "Hey I got an idea....let's raise prices!!!"

Actually yeah...I'm in business and I have heard from a number of "business advice people" that it is a good idea to raise prices in a slow period... I guess so that fewer sales still result in a higher profit margin to carry you through.....and then there's a gravy-train effect when things start to pick up again.....

Yup, looks like you're right, and they haven't woken up to it yet. Anyone who was planning on one of those, better hurry.

[damn, IIRC I paid more for my FA-66 than that FA-101 listed there grmbl grmbl ]

my girlfriend just passed me the music-mag from last year (musicstore).. the Fa-66 was actuall sold for 269.-

why I actually fell over this..
a friend of mine bought a laptop today.. asked me for a decent soundcard.. I told him: "Fa-66.. around 289.- ", he will be not amused when I tell him what it will cost him now.. I think I have to consider something else..

Something tells me it could be across the board, as in either going to happen everywhere, or already happening.

Could be first sign of stagflation.
