ASUS P6T Deluxe 12GB RAM (6x2GB) No Go?
Hi there, I got today another 6GB of CorsairRAM (1600MHZ) to go up to 12GB (i plan to switch off the paging file(finally)) the problem is: eventhough according to asus manual 12GB are supported by my mainboard (P6T Deluxe) I am not even able to get into BIOS After removing the additional 6GB RAM - voila everything is fine Hmm... any ideas? Thank you

1. The RAM may not be absolutely 100% compatible with the motherboard. You can verify this with Memtest 2. With all RAM slots populated with 2GB sticks, many RAM controllers simply won't run the RAM at full rated speed.

Usually needs slower timings.... Been there done that with 8gb DDR2. Maybe the rules have changed but in any case, there are articles out there on the i7 with 12GB.

Contact Corsair's support, they've been great and quick to respond in my experience. They tend to do a lot of testing with ASUS motherboards, so they may have an answer for you. If you get an answer/fix, please post back here for our benefit. By the way, switching off the paging file is generally a very bad idea, although I understand the need/want to do so.

Hello midimal, Sorry to boder you, it has been long time seems you publish this mesage but I have the same (P6T Deluxe) and already runing 6GB(3x2) of 1600MHZ. I would like to know if you did any special configuration to the mother board because I want to buy an extra (3x2) GB to get 12B. I have recently updated the BIOS and my memories are the[class="size2"][class="size5"] Corsair XMS3 "Triple Channel" 6 here the link http://www.ldlc-lyon.com/fiche/PB00080045.html I already bought an extra pack of the memories and I have tryied but the sistem only recognise 8GB.(after I thought the memories didn´t work in my system so I send them back) So if you tell me that there is a way of make it work I would try again. Thank you very much I hope you see my message Francisco
