V-Studio 700 in Australia

Shocked to hear the list price for this whole package is to be $9,999.00

That's just price gouging by the importer and puts it out of my reach forever. That's more than double the US price and even allowing for lousy exchange rates and transport costs there is so much more on the market for that kind of money. A very sad bit of news indeed.

Its alright. I've since found out that there's quite a difference between Recommended retail and the actual street price of $7,999 which is much more reasonable. Warranty becomes an issue then too if Roland/Cakewalk don't offer a true global warranty via the local distributor in Australia.

In reply to Mudgel. You are much better off buying it here in Australia. Roland is very well represented here and the warranty and support is excellent in Australia. (Support is excellent from US too) By the time you convert the US price plus shipping (and it is a BIG thing by the way), to our dollars it will be the same anyway.

I know of many cases where people have bought things overseas and been let down with service here. It is not worth it for something so important as this. If you are near Sydney they will be only be too happy to do an extended demo for you. Also if you are in Melbourne at all, contact me, as I am now the Roland appointed Melbourne based product demonstrator and I can also arrange a detailed demo.

$8k is serious coin unless you are at least part time pro.

Anyone seen the controller 'only' on offer anywhere in Oz?

    Would be very sweet methinks.

    ASUS H270, i7-7700, JLM BA & 1290, LA2A Opto4, loads of guff.
