A website for us in the recording hobby

http://www.talkbackwards.com/

Want to know who buried paul, who has satanic messages, what country star got his wife, his truck and his job back?

Thanks mama bear for turning me on to stumble.

Remember when this was difficult, required a reel-to-reel and involved twisting - and possibly damaging - a tape?

Now, any SONAR user can reverse audio with ease. I have a personal collection of reversed clips that I actually use in songs on a regular basis. No satanic messages. Yet. But plenty of reversed bells, cymbals, piano and various plucked notes.

Want to have some fun? Bounce a multi-part harmony vocal from one of your own songs to another clip, reverse it, and blend it back in with the original, either in time, as an answer or as a preface. Try it with printed reverb and/or delay.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I remember tracking stuff to my rtr (i have had one or more pretty much since I was 18) and going through he trouble of turning it backwards. I never heard much.

I like doing the reversed reverb effect occasionally, particularly if I am trying to make a snare really stand out in a sparse mix.

You don't need Sonar for this. I remember doing this with Windows Sound Recorder 15 years ago in Windows 3.11
