New noob question

Hi,
Close to buying my new comp. Evil Jim Studiocats advised me that I might want a better audio interface than the Lexicon Lambda(I'm about to receive). Are there any suggestions IN that price range? EJ mentioned Edirol and M Audio. Are there any particular models of those brands or something else people would recommend in case I wanna dump the Lambda? Thank you all very much.
