things fall apart
there's nothing on this sweet, sweet earth where that doesn't apply

so there's a choice of anger and bitterness over what is inevitable in every aspect of this existence
(and I'm not saying that isn't justified. it's just not esp healthy or useful)

or one can choose to enjoy the fleeting moments for what they are

not to say one should be passive; one should work tirelessly to hold and maintain what is good and useful
but in every relationship there's a time to let go

two words: Atari 2600

The only way to purchase Project5 since the announcement is to find a retail store that still has boxed stock left then register it and download the updates--this will cost anywhere from $150US on up to $200US or more for a product that has been discontinued. Musician's Friend still has it. Zzounds still has it. Sam Ash does not. Sweet Water does not.

Mine will be here on June 9th from Musicians Friends , I paid $193.00 total with tax . They were asking $200.00 plus tax but I ask for the discount they told me I could have three weeks before I ordered on the 3rd.

I'm just glad I was able to snatch up a copy before they totally disappear , its too bad they stopped selling it.

Troll's are someone like Axe. He was considered to be a troll, and forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't he mention the demise of P5 would occur? Confrontational.........

Sorry, but Axe was a troll and was no psychic - he simply saw what everybody else was seeing. Just about everybody predicted the demise of P5 - search the forums and you'll see that. The writing was on the wall and people have been claiming that P5 was "dead" for over a year now. Even those of us (myself included) who took a "we'll believe it when we hear it from the horse's mouth" attitude with it generally acknowledged that it was very unlikely that P5 would be continued.

i may be upgrading my computer in the near future and will have to reinstall P5. Does Cakewalk still do the registration thing with P5 or is P5 no longer supported and can't be used beyond the 30 days. As my memory serves me, its best to first install P5 version 2.0 from the CD then apply version 2.5 then version 2.5.1 does that sound correct?

synth,

that is right, I imagine. You do want to load in P5 that way, tho you might skip dimension if you have Dimpro.

1) Ya will need NO new registration AT ALL, as it only has do be done ONCE (which was the FIRST time you did it...)
Thus, all you need to do is install it with your serial number, than paste the "old" registration code on the promt window which appears when you run P5 v2.5...
The registration code, once given by Cakewalk, is "lifetime"... one of the things I personally love about Cakewalk products...

2) that's correct... althought not strictly necessary...
This is because v2.5 ITSELF doesn't include some Synths (Dimension, Roland GrooveSynth...), so, unless you already own them (for instance, if you have SONAR 8 installed...) you may want to install P5 v2.0 first, than patch it with v2.5, in order to update it...

Enjoy...

ok, i think I will just install version 2.5 then apply the 2.5.1 update.

So i also assume that while installing the 2.5 version it will give me the option of not installing Dimension LE since that version is already a part of Sonar 8.

the only thing it looks like i'll be missing from not installing the 2.0 CD version is the DS864 sampler. if i don't have the DS864 sampler, does Sonar include one?

So i assume the 2.5 version has everything else that was originally included in the 2.0 CD version including all the patches and chains.

gothic.angel, thanks for making it pretty clear and AT you reminded me to not install the Dimension that came with P5 since I already have Dimension Pro that shipped with Sonar 8.

Looking forward to installing all of this once I get my pc music ready. I may have to get a new computer since I don't know if my Turion Dual Core 1.8 mhz with only 2gb ram and a 120gb hard drive will hold up, now that I may be jumping on that Komplete5 deal.
