ASIO channel problem

I prefer wading into questions than diving into the deep end, but I have no choice here so I hope I can explain my problem so that it makes some sense to somebody.

I just bought an Edirol FA-66. The unit works just fine for my application (input from a radio receiver), and works just fine as a 2 channel soundcard.

I am using it with a specially written spectrogram program (Ishmael), which has been proven to work in ASIO mode with 4+ channels on MOTU receivers.

I need to use 3 channels. When I select the tab for the ASIO interface in the software program I get a pull down menu with the following options

MicIn left
MicIn right
LineIn & left
LineIn & right
SpdifIn left
SpdifIn right

So all the inputs are there and recognized, but I can only select one at a time - no way to shift or ctrl and pick more than one. I spoke with the programmer for Ishmael and he said he used a free ASIO interface off the internet, but couldn't remember which one. He doesn't have time to troubleshoot it for me. I've got the AsioCard.dll file, but can't make any sense of it.

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be? I don't even know what a dll file is, so I am pretty lost.

Thanks

Hi there, I'm a newbie so if i end up sounding patronising then its not intentional, its just because thats the limit of my understanding lol!

first off, the ASIO interface the guy was talking about would be ASIO4ALL, which you can google and download. but, i was having some ASIO issues and i was advised by someone to download that, but when i spoke to one of the Edirol tech support guys, he said that it just skirts around the problem. your software is obviously detecting the various ASIO channels, but im afraid "i got nothin' " as to why you cant select multiple channels...

    maybe the old CTRL-click?
