Building a Machine
Hey folks, back in to HS4 for a project, I've been away from it all for a pretty long while. I'm getting a DAW box built, and am trolling around for some advice as far as specs. I posted a thread on the HS4 forum, here. I'll re-post here if that's a better idea. Thanks for any help, ideas, your time, et al.

I think mine will be a good bit more humble! Nice machine, hope you dig it. I hope to have something going by next week.

Enjoy the build. I know mine might be overkill, but I also thought that about the Pentium 4 PC that I built 5 years ago.

check out the box for sale in the thread: FOR SALE: DAW PC custom build F@KKER
Someone said: I've had more time to play with this, and am withdrawing the bug remarks. This appears to work as designed and is actually a pretty cool feature.

Sounds like a nice nigh-end studio PC... I'm looking a little humbler than that though I'm afraid. But thanks for the heads-up!

I'm talking $300. There's a local guy who says he can fix me up; he's made a few machines for a guy I do work for (carpentry), and appears to know what he's doing.

If you're using your previous PC and just replacing the mobo, processor and video, you can do OK for $300. You may even be able to get into an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.

Well we're gonna find out. At any rate whatever I end up with will be of some standard that'll handle some work adequately. Thanks for the help guys.
