sibelius 6 - rewire to host

I just saw this announced on Sound on sound - would rewire help those looking for improvements to the score functionality of Sonar?

Just thought people may find this useful

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing. I know you can sync the two programs together for playback, but can they sync 2 tracks together? Say input a note in a Sibelius track and have it show up in corresponding Sonar track? Stuff like that? Susan can you do that with Finale??

in my experience with sibelius 6 demo rewired to sonar 8.3.1, is partially broken. you can instantiate a rewired sibelius in sonar but when you play only sonar will run but sibelius don't. i'm very disappointed. :-(

i've tried to rewire sibelius 6 demo to nuendo, protools and reaper, it worked flawlessly.

    cakewalk should look into this.

Then Why would Sibelius claim that it works with Sonar? something smells fishy

to clarify the last point, with Sibelius now being under the AVID group, the only DAW they mention on their site is pro-tools. As far as I'm aware Sonar, Nuendo and other DAWs haven't been mentioned. Because Sonar supports re-wire, I asked about the compatibility between to the 2 applications and whether Sib could possibly be a decent alternative to the scoring in Sonar

Nope!...watch the demo video on the website. The narrator mentions Sonar and other DAWs clear as day....

This is very disappointing. I had similar problems Rewiring Sonar and Gigstudio 3.

To answer the original question, no. It would allow to record you Sibelius output directly into Sonar and add additional tracks in Sonar. But it doesn’t give you MIDI control over the notation that’s in Sibelius. Or allow you to import it directly into Sonar.

Is that record audio into Sonar or record midi into Sonar? there is very little use for the audio coming out of Sib, but if you can dump midi data into Sonar and tweak it ...that is worthwhile.
