How Can I get My Console Back On Screen?
<sheesh>... I just ran into a problem (amongst a few)... I just opened an old project I need to mix and the console window doesn't open... I'm guessing that it was last saved in the days when I was multi-monitor and had it on the other screen.... How can I get it back on my primary (only) monitor? I know I could re-install, but that won't change where the project remembers the window to be floating... Thanks...

Install this little tool: http://www.faberbox.com/fabertoys.asp Open it and go to "tools>windows explorer". There you will have a list of the processes and programs running in your computer. Search for Sonar, on expand it "+". Look for the console name. Click on it, and you will see at the right an "X","y" values. Set them to "0" and then press "Set Pos". Save your project, and next time it will be there. The changes that faber tools do are temporal, so, dont be afraid you will harm sonar or something. Luck. (maybe someone know a more easy way, but this program is really handy with multiple monitor issues) Edit: It looks something like this, im using cakewalk music creator but is very similar, i guess:

Thanks Marce... I'm downloading it as I type... One question... I'm guessing from your instructions that I should perform this while the project is open in Sonar? Now if I can find a way to solve the plugins problem as easily (see other message if you're interested) Love Ya' Keni

You could try to trick it. Setup your monitor for extended display (as if you had dual monitors) - then you could move your mouse to the right edge, forcing it to scroll probably enough to find the console and move it back. I did this recently and was about to leap in and say how it easy it is to get it back - which it was - and how to do it........ ....but I can't recall what I did.......??? I'm sure it involved resizing... or the monitor set up. I just pretended I was Nero and fiddled a bit

Here's a universal approach that works with any window that's somehow moved out of the viewable area. First, set focus to the console by selecting Console from the View menu. Then press ALT-SPACEBAR followed by "M". Now use the arrow keys to move the console into view. Press ESCape to get out of that mode.

Another alternative- Within Sonar - in a project where the screen layout works go to views/layouts & save the layout. Open the project where the view is screwy, views/layout & load the view you previously saved.

Thanks again, bitflipper, for about a month a half some of my vst modules-notibly the smaller ones like sonitus- were off to the left and unreachable. Pretty random, too, and I was just about to do a reinstall, but this does the trick! Thanks again Robert Anthony

nice one, bitflipper! F@KKER
Someone said: I've had more time to play with this, and am withdrawing the bug remarks. This appears to work as designed and is actually a pretty cool feature.
