Problem Opening Files

I saved some files on to my flash drive as cakewalk bundle files.
I later try to open them and it says they are not cakewalk formated files.
Then it says I might can open them if I use the command and drag them into the view.

Does anyone have any input on this?

It shoots that up in an error box.
I hate to loose a whole album of material.
Does anyone have any input?
I can see the files they say cakewalk bundle but they will not open.

Are you trying to load them directly from the flash drive? That could be an issue! Have you tried copying the files to your hard-disk first, then loading them that way? It's possible that loading them from the flash drive- could be causing the problem. You could also try burning the files from the flash to CD then load them that way. I load bundle files from CD & DVD all the time with no issues.

Burn your future bundle files to CD instead of the flash drive and test them to make certain they actually work.

    Good luck!

Not trying to be a smart-aleck, really! But why shouldn't they open properly from a flash drive, assuming true file integrity?

They should open from the flash drive just fine, but all versions of Windows are unstable and anything can happen. It's just something to try. It's possible though that the flash drive has corrupt sectors. You might want to try scanning it for errors.

I got 6 of the 13 to open.
I have sent them to cakewalk projects file.
I sent them to my documents but they still will not work.
I can see them they have the icon.
They say how many kb they are.
    But they will not open.
I should have checked them before I deleted them.

I couldn't even get mp3s to work right with a flash drive. I can't figure out why. Putting them on a CD works, but not a flash drive. I don't get it.

I wonder if it might have something to do with the difference between FAT, FAT32 exFAT and NTFS file structures. I've noticed lately on the newer USB drives I have been having file coruption problems. I think I'll see how things fair using different file structures.

When trying to figure out issues such as this- you have to consider all possibilities! Flash drives aren't a permanent storage medium that I would entrust important data with exclusively. CD & DVD are a better archival choice [IMO] that can be easily replicated & stored. Also, viruses can attack such devices [removable memory] since they're made for portability which makes them the perfect conduit to spread viruses to other devices you connect them to.

Who really knows about the true quality assurance of these products when they're manufactured? Considering how cheap they've become in cost -- how reliable are they?
