V-studio 700 question

 Hey guys,

I was wondering is it possible to use the V-studio 700 console with my RME 9632 card?  Also would the console work with other software as well like nuendo or logic?

    Dexter,

Yes, you can use the VS700C control surface alongside any sound card/ interface.

When run on its own the VS-700C connects directly to the computer via USB2.0 and utilizes a special standalone control surface driver, which is different than the audio/ surface river that gets used when the VS-700C and VS-700R are used together.

The VS-700C will indeed work with third-party software as it utilizes the Mackie Control protocol. However, the VS-700C is Windows exclusive at the moment, so it will not work with Logic for the time being.

Thanks guys for the info.  Any news if they will support mac anytime soon?  Also I have a RME HDSPe AIO card.  So I can use that for my soundcard and just use the VS-700C as a mixer etc?

    Hey Dexter,

Currently I have no news for you as for MacOS compatibility.

The VS-700C is only a control surface and as such there are no discrete audio Ins or Outs. It is used to control SONAR or other software via MC control. All of your I/O will be handled by your sound card/ interface.

Does this work on Vista, also does it work on Windows 7?

Any plans on making additional faders for this?

It's been working in Vista for a while now. I would upgrade to Win 7 though.

If I want to use the console and I/O with pro tools 9 (audio working, no luck on control surface as of yet), do I need to plug console in via usb?  Will that bypass headphones and volume control?
