Edirol instrument settings won't save on my P5 song files

When I save a song file on my Cakewalk Project 5 (version 1), The Edirol Orchestral, Hyper canvas, and super quartet VSTi instruments I use on the multiple tracks won't save the individual instruments (bass panio flute etc.) I selected for them. When I reload the song. the edirol vst instruments are back at their default instrument settings. I was able to save the individual instrument settings before i had to reinstall the P5. But now they won't. What am i missing?

    I remember having this exact same problem. I can't remember if I found a solution though :( . I may have solved it by using the dxi instead of the vst, or upgrading to 2.5 might have fixed it. I generally don't use Edirol Orchestral anymore.
