Snowblind - Black Sabbath cover

Aloha,
For those who are into it, here`s my interpretation of Black Sabbath`s Snowblind.
Please excuse the singing. Im just a guitar player :D

I did`nt want to add all kinds of guitar work on this one like i usually do because I wanted to try to stay as close to the original groove except with more raw sounding high gain guitars to attempt to make an already heavy song even heavier.

If anyone is interested in any of my other Sabbath covers:

War Pigs - http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6913348
As always thank you for taking the time to listen to my stuff, and your comments, tips and tricks are welcomed as im still learning how to record and mix.

Heh - props. I like that.

I gotta hear some country with a sabbath twist to it. That might be cool.

Black Sabbath *IS* without my question my favorite band.  I absolutely love the guitar sound you got.  Nice touch with the vocals, they work!!

9/10 for me...  The only thing that could have made it better is if BS was actually playing it! :)

Thank you for checking it out!
Sabbath has influenced my playing a writing since day one.
Infact Iron Man was the very first song I learned to play (I was a bass player back then).
IMHO they were way way before their time.

Hi there John, how's it going?

Wow, this is spot on - I love the guitar tone!

As always, the playing is perfect

My (former) father-in-law used to do a bit of part-time bar work in a pub here in Worcester where they used to drink occasionally before they got famous. He remembers them being quite a pleasant bunch, apart from Ozzy - a bit of a show-off and a loud mouth apparently!

Ah, one of my fave Sabbath tracks and you've done it full justice with this cover.  Another excellent Sabs cover from you.

Hey John, I may be the only person here who's not really familiar with Sabbath but you've got a monster guitar tone on this and your vocal sounds great for someone who claims to just be a guitar player.  Cool solos, too.

John - I grew up with Sabbath and they were in fact the first band I saw live back in 1969.

This is quite an awesome rendition of this song, a GREAT interpretation - somehow you've made it even heavier than the Sabs managed.

    Edit to add:

Ha ha - I listened to it before reading your notes: "attempt to make an already heavy song even heavier." Great minds..............

My first vocal ever with a band was "Paranoid" when I was 14, LOL. You would have never guessed that, I am sure, from hearing my sappy acoustic ballads of today...hahahaha...

Anyway, others have complimented on guitar tone and performance and I agree. Well done track!

    Thanks for listening Ya`ll.
Im sorry for all the Black Sabbath covers.  LOL

For the past 20+ years i`ve played in bands that rarely did any covers, so last year before my stroke, I started doing covers from bands that influenced my writing and playing.
So  I did some Mountain, Pinkfloyd, Robin Trower, Hendrix covers for fun, then .... The Sabbath bug hit, and I may have gone overboard.

I started recording Stevie Ray Vaughn`s Riviera Paradise, but I kept hearing Snowblind in my head hahaha, so I put it on the back burner and the Sabbath covers took over.

Tom, I forgot about Paranoid. I`ll give it a shot when I can find a good tone to try to do it justice.

    Thank you all once again.

Well, I haven't heard Sabbath do this, as a matter of fact, I have never listened to much of their stuff.  They're great, I don't know why.  I don't know what to say about it.  I think everything is played really good.   I think your voice sounds very good (for a guitar player ) I would have liked to hear it a little louder.  All in all I'd say this was done well.
