Nicely sung. It sounds like you need to learn how to use the mic a bit (such as pulling back when you get loud to control the dynamics on the vox). Less work for your engineer too. It sounds a bit thin and harsh here. There is little warmth in the vox or guitar which would be welcome on an acoustic song. This harshness can be mic induced as well (see above).

Nice song...I like the lyrics. Great vocal. I like the guitar tone but it sounds more like a clean electric than an acoustic...not really a criticism, just an observation. Again, love your voice.

Dena, Fabulous vocal track. I especially love the delivery in the middle section, very personal and heartfelt... those 'where did you go?'s were packed with heart. Lovely lyric too. edit:spelling

Yeah the guitar sounds more like a clean electric to my ears too, not that that's important as it sounds fine. You have a fantastic voice and if you recited a telephone directory it would probably still sound good. Excellent.

Hi Venus, Strong, edgy and expressive vocals. Beautiful tone, lovely falsetto. You put mine and Shad's to shame . A deep rich acoustic guitar sound would support/enhance your vocals better imho. Solid performance. Lyrics are excellent. Mix sounds very good in the cans. Very very well done. Regards, jc

Loved the vocal delivery here. I can hardly pay attention to the guitar, as I just want to dive into the voice and swim there. When I do pay attention to the guitar, it sounds like a DI's acoustic electric or clean electric and not an acoustic. I hear slight plosives from time-to-time on the vocal. Do you use a side-address, large format condenser? If so, do you hang it condenser-side down above your mouth and sing up to it? If not, t'is something to try. If you hang a condenser "upside down" ABOVE the level of your nose, but angled down aiming at your mouth (actually right-side up, as condenser down is the right way to sing into a large format side-address mic, especially a tube mic), you need never use a pop filter or change distance to the mic Instead, sing "under" the mic, but up to it on soft passages, and under the mic, but straight ahead (so that your mouth is aiming to sound treatment under the mic, not up to it) on loud passages. This way, you won't have to change frequency response due to proximity effect, or bring in more "room," by changing distance to the mic. With a dynamic mic, or small-format condenser vocal mic , it is more tricky, and you need to do it opposite, position-wise. For very tight pattern condensers, you must sing into them, and so using an elastic band (or two) to fasten a pencil in front of the mic will kill plosives. Let me say that these possibly valuable tips are just polish. You have a vocal talent, and I liked the song too! I would take it just the way it is, and enjoy it, so everything else I've written is just nits and possible helpful suggestion. Very nicely done! Best, Mark

You have a great voice kind-off a cross between Jewel & Avril ... a little more working the mic is needed but other than that Beautiful i say.

Great voice, great voice, great voice! Some plosives here and there can be heard - a general 'warming' of the vocal would be nice too. Still a very well done and intimate sound though.

Aw guys, I love yall. I just want to say thank you for listening. I've been working all weekend and I'm so exhausted. I'm going to scroll thru and decipher all the input this evening. Right now, I'm going to sit back and relax and listen to some of yall's tunes...I'm so in the mood to hear great new music.

Great voice no doubt about that Maybe the guitar could come up a dB (very subjective thing though) I think your voice would hold it's own without problems... There's some harshness at a few occassions in the vox, maybe some shelving or smooth saturation (tube/tape) could help? Great work!
Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

Dena, you've got such a great voice. This is a beautiful song. I probably would have added a little something here and there (keys?, strings?, ??), but it's great the way it is.
