Introducing the Fortified Wine Connoisseurs!

This is just kind of a project band that I only sing/write/produce/engineer and record. It's kind of a quicky throw together thing.

Scratch vox because I only have one verse presently though I suspect the choruses are final. Comment as you see fit, I could use the help.

I haven't listened to this genre in years.  Guitars are smok'n.  Unfortunately the vocals are taking a back seat to everything else.  Bass is a tad heavy on the low end.

And the drums are a bit mono sounding. :)

What genre is that? It isn't in any way a final mix, but I will look into those things on the final. Thanks.

Really like the guitar work on this one.  Big thick beefy song which I like a lot.

The thing I like the least is the kick and snare, I'd prefer a bit more of a "thump" from the kick rather than hearing so much of the click.  Also, the snare needs a really nice "crack".  These are probably live drums (not midi drums) so I'm not sure you can do that much to the snare.  You might be able to use drumagogo and replace the snare with some samples if you're interested.

Don't take those last comments as negatives, I'm just telling you want I hear.  I wouldn't lose any sleep if you kept the original parts.

Great job on the song and production.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Tom

I like this a lot.  I couldn't hear the vocals enough but I liked the bgv answerbacks!  I don't know what genre this is but I've played it live with some jammers.  It's FUN to play live.  Hard rock?  Whatever, nice job!  Your BGV singers sound really good.  Is that you?  Nice guitar work.

Sounds great. I also think the vocals need to come up a bit more, not a lot though.

New mix. It's different. Not sure if it's better or worse. This is my more fun rock thing, BTW.

New version sounds even better. Nice one.   Had to pick up my guitar and knock a few riffs out after listening to this.

    10Ten,
I've always known a guitar driven tune like this to be Hard Rock!  I might be wrong. That wasn't intended to come across as an insult.  Like I said the guitars are smok'n.  You've got some great guitar chops!  Nice tone on the guitar too.

This mix is much better, the BGV answer backs are much clearer.  What kind of effect is that on the BGV answer backs?  It really sounds cool,  delay and something else.  I can't pick it out.  Nice improvements.

I didn't take it as an insult, I really wanted to know what you would call it.
All I did on this one was sing however. The other stuff I've been posting I played guitar on. However, the guitars are a Marshall JVM410H and a 5150 with a single RM4 as a room, 57s on the cabs. Backgrounds are..wait for it... 6 tracks/3 per side with no effects other than the natural ebb and flow of doing the takes. Sang with whatever was sitting in the control room, held in my hand. All of them go into one instance of SSL Channel.
