More ACT woes

After months of hair pulling and time wasting I finally managed to get my Oxygen 8v2 working to a setup I was happy with in Sonar LE only to find 2 weeks later when I start a new project that the settings seem to have changed themselves again.

Now when using the ACT setup screen turning rotary 2 also affects the values that are supposed to be controlled by rotaries 3 and 5 and vica versa.  Trying to re-learn them has no effect, I can't override them so they appear to be linked together in some way.  ie. even when learning R3 and twiddling rotary 3 on the controller R3 "learns" that it is linked to rotary 3 but the value of R2 also goes up and down too when I twiddle the knob.   This has the unwanted effect of twiddling all 3 knobs on whatever softsynth I'm using that are assinged to rotaries 2,3 and 5.  I have confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the controller by bypassing ACT and just manually assigning the rotaries to the relevant knobs directly on the softsynth.  I can then control each thing I want individually.  So it's just ACT being rubbish again.  Any ideas how to unlink these 3 rotaries?

Also, I'm considering upgrading my LE to a regular version of Sonar as I really like it and would like some of the features that are  disabled in LE but the fact that ACT is so rubbish really is a deal breaker for me.  Has it been improved at all in version 8?

    Hey,

Are you saving the settings to your own preset after assigning the controller?

Yeah, I had it set up perfectly, saved it in my own preset and now it no longer works properly.  Even reloading the preset has no effect.

Do you have presets in your Midi controller aswell. I wrote my own for my Axiom and always make sure that its loaded.

Although I think your problem definitely lies in ACT. I'm sure I've encountered this before and managed to get my head around it. But it does take a bit of fiddeling and extra familiarization with the thing.

I'll look into it again as I have a few new plugins to set up.

    Ok, cheers.

I thought that each rotary would send a different code so Sonar would be able to tell the difference between each rotary.  I wasn't aware that I had to make a preset for the actual controller, I didn't even know you could.  When you mentioned preset I thought you meant saving the settings as a controller preset in the ACT setup screen, which I did.
