"Q" vs "R" when recording Instrument Track in Sonar PE

I've been using Sonar PE for a couple of years (8.3.1 at the moment), but only now getting into midi and Instrument Tracks.  I have an Instrument Track set up using Dim Pro, and it seems to works just fine... but I noticed something 'different'.  When I click on the R (record) button for the track, it changes to a "Q" symbol instead of a red "R" symbol.  Anybody know why it does that, and what the "Q" represents?

Thanks... that makes sense.  No wonder my timing sounded so good.
