Bus Icon Weirdness in 8.5.1 Track View

So here's an odd one.  In 8.5.1 -- and only in that version -- no bus icons show up next to the bus name when a bus is minimized.  Instead, I only get 6 black triangles.  If I "open" the bus (i.e., maximize it), the icon shows up in that part, but still get 6 triangles next to the bus name.
 
Even more curious, I saved the "factory" normal template when I created my own, so I opened that one, inserted a new bus (which started out with the triangles), added a new icon, and while it shows when the bus is maximized, not when it's minimized.
 
The icon shows up in the Track/Bus Inspector, AND in the console view.  Just not in the busses in the Track View.
 
I opened 8.3.__ (forgot where we left off), and my "normal" template opens fine, with bus icons both next to the name when minimized, and also when the bus is max'd.
 
I've checked menus, etc., and see nothing to remedy this.  I like being able to focus in on busses by instrument pictures;
 
ANY IDEAS????
