Printing external insert effects?
There has to be an easy way do this. Or it is impossible. I have a couple of outboard boxes that have no equal in the plug in world. My TC Fireworks is an example - a totally bizarre box that was clearly designed by someone on a bad LDS trip. So, I have just started using external inserts now that I changed over to using my RME FF800s. And I have my Fireworks on a buss. And I am routing guitar signals to it via a send. Is there a clean way to print just the effects? This is wired up in a rack so I really do not want to reconnect stuff. Thanks.
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

Is it Midi? Will it translate to notation? What are you talking about Space Cowboy?

Hahahaa! Folks don't understand old-time phrases like "Print it"! Can you split the TC Box's outputs and simultaneously bring them into free standard inputs - thus being free to record them as standard inputs? That should kinda avoid rewiring.

Does the TC Box have two outputs? Does it have more? Left - Right channels from one output? Vague. Print it-record it.

Hmm I have it set up as an external insert. When I do that, I cannot seem to route the outputs back to Sonar. I figured it out. For future reference, place something like this in a buss. Use the external send/return, but do not return it to the buss. Return it to its own track. Bingo Bingo Bingo and bingo was his name-o.

Is there a clean way to print just the effects? Yes there is, do a bounce to track, select busses as you source category unselect the busses you don't want to bounce, uncheck fast bounce, press enter. You should have a new track(s) with the the FX. HTH Tom

Nope that didnt work. Thats strange I have been doing this all day, Bouncing busses to new tracks that have external inserts going to external FX,.... I just did it again and it printed the buss FX to a new track. I don't know what to tell you, except maybe make sure nothing is muted that shouldn't be and receck the routing to the external FX. (edit to add)And the External Inserts routing Tom
