Problems with Groove Clips

Occasionally when using groove clips I find a tendency for SONAR to try and change the timing on me. The groove enabled clip will be stretched out and play far slower than it is meant to. Other times it works just fine. Any ideas on what is making it act up? I should state up front this is only occurring when using audio clips not MIDI.

I'm probably the wrong guy to answer this, since I'm not a loop-based composer, but every Groove Clip has a number of beats defined. That number together with the project tempo in BPM is going to determine how many beats in the timeline the clip occupies and how fast it plays. If it takes up more space and plays slower than expected, you probably need to open the clip in the Loop Construction view, and lower (probably halve) the number of beats defined in the clip.

You may also find that the looped clip sometimes sounds altered or glitchy.  This is because Sonar will attempt to slice the loop automatically and the slices may get time stretched incorrectly.  If you go into loop construction view and select "no slicing" in the slices box that usually fixes it.

I have experienced the same problem.  I have resorted to right clicking on the clip and then selecting "clip properties" and then opening the tab: Audio Stretching and then checking the box: Enable Looping.     It sounds cumbersome, but it works.

I'm also going to check out what brundlefly wrote and see if that is the solution for my issue.
