sfz+( v1.01) vs sfz (v1.9.7)?

With both sfz+ (ver1.01) & sfz (1.9.7) now free, I compared the spec. details (from their pages here in KVR) side-by-side.

It seems sfz+ is a more superior big-brother to sfz.
- Are sfz patches upward compatible with sfz+?
- Can anyone give me a reason to keep sfz and not delete it?

Don't be fooled by the name.  sfz+ does not load .sfz files, whereas sfz does.  Likewise .ogg files.  Only you can decide whether you care about that, so I can't "give you a reason" as you put it.

It's such a small file I can't see any harm in keeping it "just in case". You could always exclude it from Sonar's VST scan if you do not want to see it in Sonar.

It probably uses far less resources than Dimension Pro, so you could use it for sfz multisamples in situations where you don't need Dimension Pro's shaping and mixing features.
