Triangle I vs Triangle II

I have both the free Triangle I & II and I know their GUI appears entirely different to Triangle I.

But - because they have similar names is there anything similar between their architectures?

And are Triangle I patches upward compatible with Triangle II?

If TII is the predecessor of TI, can I trash my old Triangle I files?

    I think they each have their own character but I never use them anymore.  Pentagon 1 replaced both for me.
