Studio Instruments as a plug in?

Hello,
I have Studio instruments. I guess it is, as stated in the description, a stand alone item. Can I make it a plugin VST for Sonar 8 producer?
I tried dragging and droping some of it into Sonar. The funny thing is that in SI, I can hear the drums on my computer, but in sonar, nothing. I guess I'm not up enough  on inputs and outputs to figure how to hear it in Sonar.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know about dragging and dropping them onto SONAR, but they should show up on your SoftSynth menus as selectable instruments within SONAR.

Well, I don't think SI is actually a stand-alone product ... there's no menu item (at least during my install) to launch it. You can use any of them as plugins. You just have to make sure their location is in the list of VST folders. If you have to add it, just rescan and they should show up.

I've found the drag and drop doesn't always work if you're using a single instrument track. Try adding a MIDI and audio track when you insert the Studio Instrument synth and you should be able to drag a pattern to the MIDI track.

Studio Instruments acts as a VSTi plugin in SONAR.  Use INSERT>SOFTSYNTH to load them into your project.  Each of the instruments in Studio Instruments will act like a separate softsynth.

SI is indeed a standalone app as well as a VSTi.

Make sure you scan the proper directory in Sonar and they will show up when you do as Dave mentioned.
