SONAR 7 path settings

I am using my old SONAR 7 machine as my backup in case my new SONAR 8 machine decide to start "motorboating" or something.  I haven't used it in a while but now when I set my Audio path to another drive the next time I boot the machine all my settings go back to the default settings.  Any ideas?

I'm sure it's something simple...

Thanks,

Hawky

Perhaps Per-Project Audio folders isn't checked?

Goto Options->Global->Audaio Data tab, and down the bottom under
Per Project Audio, the options there.

I actually have never used the "per-project" audio folders.

    Maybe I should!

    Thanks !!!!

You definitely should be using per-project folders if you work with a lot of audio. Keeps things much better organized and easy to backup...

I find that only happens if I don't turn on my external HD before opening Sonar.

Definitely make sure any external HD's related to SONAR are powered up before opening SONAR...

    Haha, Sometimes I forget.
I really hate when that happens because then I have to go through and reset all the paths.

I don't have external hard drives on this machine using SONAR 7.  I think this is more related to what was mentioned earlier regarding that setting in

Options > Global > Audio Data Path

Since I didn't uncheck that box in there it thinks I want to use Per-Project files and then prompts me everytime to use that feature.  Then when I don't use them it resets the paths.  However, I agree with Papa I am going to use them now when I get back to my studio.  Since I'm using S 8.5 now it's been a while since I've used this machine.  I powered it up to kick the spiders off the hard drive platters.
I will set the PPF when I get home.  Darn, I wish I didn't have to travel every week and just play with SONAR all day!

    Thanks Papa!
