is it indeed a skirt?

after attending a highland game last summer i over heard a little girl asking her mom... "why are those men wearing skirts mom?"  i had to laugh but really when pondering the question for a wile the only difference is the pleats..and where you choose to wear it.  i don't care i just like the way the breeze feels as it flys up my skirt.  i wonder if the sensation would be better if i were a las...lol  that's an even scarier thought...

My family is from Inverness about 4 generations back.  My great grandfather continued the passage of a traditional Scottish Love Song to my grandfather when he became a man here in the US.  My grandfather taught my father, my father  - me.  I just taught my son, keeping the family tradition alive.  I have no idea how far back it goes, but based on my knowledge, it started not long after the Gaelic language was dropped.

AS I understand it, Laddies sing this to the Lassies during courtship.  You have to imagine the pipes in the background.  But it goes something like this

(Pipes playing a bit of a marching ditty, drum corp dada rat a tat tat, a rat a tat tat, a rata ta tata ta tata ta tat)
    Tickle me Tickle me Everywhere
Under my kilt and ina my hair
And if you don't tickle me in the right place
I'll lift up my kilt and I'll pi$$ in your face.

    Some people call me Maurice

my family is from that area, too.  just east of Inverness, actually.

well, I was going to say how cool it was that you passed down the love song, but that may have been a joke based on your lyrics!

Im Welsh but live in Scotland, and I really annoy the others on my shift when I call the kilt a skirt. Although I have worn one on two occasions myself.

I also annoy them when I call them Scotch (they insist on being called Scottish even though the dictionary definition is the same).

Got to have a bit of banter - I'm an inbred sheep shagger according to them.
