Mackie CU "Control Map"?
Just got my Mackie CU. Got the midi connections right, and updates installed. Now I want to use it to it's fullest capabilities. Seems like the next practicle move would be to download a Control Map for Sonar. (Or at least be able to see one in a PDF file) Is there a more "in depth" manual online somewhere that could help me configure to Sonar 3PE and/or Sonar 4PE? There's a lot of buttons here that seem to have no purpose at the moment. How do I get the "Master " fader to control the Master fader in Sonar? (all other faders work fine) Need direction desperately -Harpo

there's a MackieControl.chm (help) file installed into your Sonar directory somewhere...not on my DAW right now, so not sure where exactly, but it's there. Shouldn't be any useless buttons if you have it set up as a MCU...pretty much everything is used, I believe...should all be covered in the help file. To configure within Sonar, including setting the Master Fader to the bus of your choice, go to Tools -> Mackie Control in Sonar. Some audio interfaces have seperate L/R output faders, so you will have to lock the two together in the console view...otherwise, the Mackie just controls the left main output. enjoy :)

Yep, you'll find that all the buttons have a job assigned... or you can assign them to suit (Function buttons as example). Cheers and enjoy your new beast!

Yea, that's what I would like to do! For instance: I would like to assign the Master Fader on the Mackie CU, to the Master bus Fader in Sonar. Could you give me a step by step? Got to go to work, but I'll be home for lunch to try it out! Thanks All! -Harpo

From memory (not to be trusted ) I assigned the master from the surface configure pull down menu in Sonar. Worked a treat! Sorr, I can't remember right now the exact pull down.... did I mention my memory problems??? Cheers!

Harpo, If you have your MCU installed properly & it's showing up in the Toolbar (if not, right click in the toolbar area & make sure it's checked under, "Control Surfaces") Then to the right of box that shows Trks 1-8, Mstr 1, Jog: there's a little box that opens up the MCU control setup page. At the very bottom left is the Master Fader & from this page you should be able to configure your Mackie any way you'd like! HTHs, Wildman
