XP on a Dell 1525?

Because I tried this a year ago and was told it would not work I believe you now can install XP on a Dell Inspiron 1525 that came with Vista. I found the XP drivers on the Dell web site so somebody's using it. My friend cannot stand Vista and is not very computer savvy to begin with so is begging me to fix it.  So will it work without doing some weird things like killing chickens first?   I'm ready to hit the big button but thought I better check in first...
