No sound when applying guitar rig 2 effect on audio track!

I add Guitar rig 2 as an effect on an audio track however I get no sound when I apply the effect.

    So how are you doing this? Dropping it in the fx bin? If you tell us exactly how you are doing it we may be able to help.

    You have to have input monitoring turned on in sonar. It's the little gadget in the track window that looks kinda like the rss gadget. (((

    The main mix knob will control how much of the affected sound is mixed back into the signal you hear.

    Once you do that then you get to learn about latency. Typically you need to have the driver set up to have the latency low enough to not have a delay between when you hit a string and when you hear the affected sound back from sonar. The catch here is that the lower you have the latency, the more strain it puts on your computer. Some folks have issues running at a low enough latency without hearing crackles or static.

    Oops, Main Mix is not the right knob, it's the Playback knob.

    Can you describe the output routing?  Also, as Me F says, check input monitoring...
