Dimension Pro 1.2 + Sonar 8.5 Producer - Almost Stable (W7 - 64)

Great sound, impressive depth in the instruments, but alas the SFZs in  19 - Drum Grooves are causing my system to spit nasty errors.

A fatal error has occurred.
Module Dimension Pro x64.dll
Exception code:  c0000005

Then everything goes to heck in a handbasket and I have to restart Sonar.

Some of the files seem to work, but I can say for certain that pc_80_fxmix2 and dl_100_k01_lp06 are causing a problem among others.

Have not seen any problem with any of the files outside of the Drum Grooves folder.

Not a huge deal for my own work, but thought I should report it.

My system:

Intel Quad processor with 8 GB of RAM
Windows 7 (64-bit) with all current updates/patches applied
Nvidia 8400 GTX Video card
M-Audio Audiophile 192 Audio card
Sonar 8.5.3.282
Dimension Pro 1.2

Audio sampling is at 44.1 using ASIO with IO latencies between 6-7 msec  (just under 300 samples)

Hope this helps.

last night, i tried to use both Dimension Pro x64 DXi and Rapture x64, just for the heck of it, and they both crashed the heck out of my system.  fatal errors.  that was it.  i deleted both 64 bit plugs from my system.  granted, i expected them to crash because that's what they do; i just figured that i would give them one last chance.  for me, i will no longer pretend that 64 bit versions of these synths even exist

    Hi freelancer486 and wetdentist -

Are you able to use the 32 bit version of dimension pro okay? I'm having problems with the 64 bit version too (in Vista 64). I've un-installed Dim Pro as well. I hadn't thought of trying the 32 bit version.

I've submitted a email to Cakewalk Tech Support about my problems but haven't heard back yet.

    Thanks,

Cakewalk NEEDS to get fixing these Synths TODAY. I can't believe there has not been a fix yet. I had to delete the x64 versions and use the x86 instead via bit bridge which just blows. I can't access old (user) presets  on the bit bridges versions. What's up with that?

Make sure you report this problem directly to Cakewalk via their Problem Reporter.  Cakewalk does not view this user Forum as the means of reporting problems.  If you officially report the problem via their Problem Reporter, then you know that they will "get" it.

Will they do anything about it?  Well, who really knows!  I reported it and got a reply that they knew there was a bug.  However, when I spoke with a Tech at Cakewalk about it, he said that there was no real problem--it was user error or something such.

So the moral of the story is:  Report the Dimension and Rapture bugs to Cakewalk and complain directly to them.  If enough people officially complain they might try to fix it or might not.  Here is the link:

Thanks for the ProblemReporter link Cecelius.   I have reported the problem to CakeWalk.

I guess I should count myself lucky that I'm only getting the crashes with a couple of the drum files.   Looks like others are having much bigger issues.

I just upgraded to Rapture from the LE edition last night and was going to say no problems with it, however after exploring it further, discovered that while the drums don't crash Sonar, they just don't do anything.   MIDI events are coming from my Korg, but Rapture isn't playing anything.  This is true for the 09 - Drums folder as well as the Drums in the Elements folder.

Every other instrument seems to work flawlessly.   Fortunately there are excellent percussion alternatives to Rapture and Dimension.   Session Drummer 3 is working fine.

I too have been troubleshooting this problem....however mine was in a nasty form.
I would have blue screens, and my system would completely crash....source MOTU USB drivers....triggered by Dimension Pro.
Removed the MOTU USB drivers, and Dimension Pro will still crash (but no BSOD).
Just put in a request for troubleshooting, and will be putting in a problem report.

Love the synths, but the problems do not sit well.
