No sound whatsoever...

I'm a complete newbie here and I just want to get my Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer Edition to work.

My sound hardware is named SigmaTelAudio, I guess, and I use a laptop. As you can see my ambitions are none.
I just want to compose sheet music and I can't hear anything.
Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: More info about the hardware:
It's named SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
The version of this hardware is 5.10.0.5515_RC22-WHQL, A11
I own a Dell laptop, this is what it came with, I didn't ask for any better than the worst they got.

Pedro,

check out
a) the non-Cakewalk device forum
b) http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=1963687

I might want to add that a few $$$, Pound or Euros spent on a good audio interface will diminish your audio trouble immensely.
