To
eBlue and anyone else interested there is another pdf document called 'Sonar VS700 Control Surface' I am not sure why it is not readily available to you but while I was the Roland rep for this product here in Melbourne they sent it to me. If you PM me with a normal email address I can send it to you. It covers the extra features like Channel Branch for example which is not even mentioned in the normal manual. And other stuff as well. It has got a great summary of all functions from page 68 to the end (94 pages in all) .
One thing to remember is that rather than trying hard to replace all mouse functions, the reality is that you still need the mouse. Also having the QWERTY keyboard nearby is also a good thing too. The idea is to think of all three things being in control and you pick whatever is best at the time. eg it takes more button presses to select say 10 clips but the mouse can lasoo them much faster etc..
I have just ordered one of those special Sonar qwerty keyboards from
http://www.editorskeys.com/ These guys make special color coded qwerty keyboards with all the shortcuts written on them as well and this would make a great addition to the setup.
