cue mix and the VS-700

I am looking for some help in setting a descent cue mix using the VS-700 and Sonar 8.5.  My computer is not beefy enough to handle input monitoring.  I need at least 2 separate mixes and ideally 3.  I have a presonus HP4 for one of the mixes.

Thanks in advance.

i have one going on my monitor (called main) and one going on the vs headphone (SUB) just route the buses to what ever you want , this can be done for all the outputs (didgital and analog) i just create buses and route them to outputs i want !!

    thanks for your answer.

So can this be done using direct monitoring and not input monitoring?

I created a separate Phones bus routed to the SUB bus on the VS700R in SONAR. I then created a Send to it from the Master bus. This allows me to adjust volume, add effects & EQ the Phones bus directly without affecting the Master mix. You can then select the SUB bus using the dedicated buttons on the VS700C console.

If you need a third mix you should be able to duplicate this using another set of outputs on the VS700R.

So where do you want to send the third mix? And why do you need three? If you want to buy an extremely expensive headphone monitor you can route all your channels to seperate outs. You can send your V 700 outs to a mixer that has seperate in/out for each channel. But that's about it.

Ok I'm with you both on the sub bus and using the sends to create separate eq's, effects, etc but I am not sure if this can be done using direct monitoring of the I/O.

If I use input monitoring as in page 41 of the Getting Started manual, I get too much of a delay and can't play to the click or the tracks already recorded.  As a work around I am using direct monitoring of the I/O.

The Direct Monitor Mix can't be sent to the individual outputs. It can only be sent to the Mains, Subs, and/or Digital 1.
