Problem loading projects with FL Studio as VSTi, DXi and Rewire

When I open a project that uses FL Studio 9 inside Sonar PE 8.53, I get a popup from FL saying Save changes to untitled.flp? If I click no, FL Studio loads with nothing in the playlist. If I click Cancel, it loads with the contents I saved previously, but it doesn't remember the folder or flp filename.

Same thing happens with DXi or Rewire.

When I used to do this using Project 5, FL Studio would load without any intervention on my part,

Is this the same for other users?

Did you do this under Windows 7 64 bit?  Or under XP 32 bit, or ??

Rewire simply doesn't work with 64-bit software (and it's up to Propellerheads to fix that - Cakewalk doesn't own Rewire and can't change the Rewire spec).  I see in your sig that you're using Sonar 8.5 PE 32 bit, and it's possible that Rewire might work with 32 bit software running under a 64-bit OS - I Googled a bit, and found conflicting reports.

This thread might be helpful: http://www.soundsonline-f...showthread.php?t=23232

I'm not running 64-bit Windows -yet - so I can't test any Rewire scenarios directly.

    Good luck,

Thanks for your suggestions. As you spotted, I'm using 32 bit Sonar, and Rewire works properly except for the file loading issue. The same thing happens when I use VST or DXi, so I don't think it's a problem just with Rewire.

That explains it, I use Sonar X1 64 bit and rewire with FL studio never works, it's annoying to have to "2 track" songs into sonar instead of using rewire. I need to find a way to control all my instruments from a  FL session with Sonar, that would make mixing alot easiser. Until then, I will continue the prehistoric route.
