VS-700C - Control Surface Only ... is its Power Supply Universal ?

Hi

Regarding  just the  VS700C  Controller only:-

- is its power supply  built-in  to the  controller or is it a wall wart  ?

- is it  auto-switchable / self selecting  between   110v / 240v  ?

-  if so, I presume all that is need to run it in any given country is the correct  wall plug lead - the unit itself ships as uiversally power compatible ?

Thanks,
Tom

The VS-700C uses a standard PC-type power cord (no power brick) and according to the specs page it supports voltages up to 240V. I'm not certain if it auto-switches though because I'm not near my unit right now.

Update:  I happened to have to run home for lunch. While I was there I took a peek behind the 700C. I didn't notice any switches for changing the voltage. However, I did happen to notice that the SN sticker had 117V(?) AC printed on it. So it may be possible that they are shipping different versions to different countries.

Therefore, I would recommend that you check with Cakewalk sales to find out for sure.

    Hi Tom,

The VS-700C contains an internal, self-switching power supply. The sticker on the back of the unit is specific to the market the unit is intended for sale in, so it may only list the voltage of your country depending on where the unit shipped from. The power supply inside is indeed switching and capable of running AC 117 V, AC 230 V, AC 240 V (50/60 Hz).

You are correct in that the power IEC cable that the unit will ship with will be specific to your country. If you need to obtain the correct power cable, you should be able to purchase one directly from your local VS-700 distributor.

Yep, the jug cord (IEC) plugs into the 117volt labeled input and runs beautifully here on 240v. Surprised that isn't detailed on the back a bit more but there ya go.

Buy one, they are what you have been dreaming about for Sonar for years....
